Chair/Director
Joanne Bolen
Born and raised near St. Brieux, I now live on a farm outside Melfort. I’ve loved art for as long as I can remember and joined MAC’s visual arts side in 2003. In 2020, I helped revitalize MAC as Chair. Now in my second term, I believe Northeast Saskatchewan can grow into a thriving arts hub.

Vice-Chair/Director
Laurel Korbo
Laurel Korbo is the Vice Chair of the Melfort Arts Council. Though not an artist, she has a deep appreciation for the arts, inspired by her grandmother’s workshops. She values how the arts enhance communities and is excited to contribute to MAC’s mission.

Performing Arts Chair/Director
Karen Eckhart
Karen, a longtime arts and music lover, worked in Communications at the Mendel Art Gallery for a decade. She has experience in grants, policies, and non-profits. She holds a Social Work degree and a coaching certification. As MAC’s Performing Arts Chair since 2023, she helps with grants, planning, and partnerships.

Visual Chair/Director
Brenda Mellon
Brenda Mellon has 30+ years of leadership and volunteer experience. She worked at Cumberland College, USask, and now serves as Museum Curator/Cultural Coordinator in Melfort. A MAC member for 30+ years, she connects arts with the community, organizes exhibitions, and volunteers in cultural and arts initiatives while raising three teenagers.

Treasurer/Director
Sandra Jensen
Sandra Jensen, from Naicam, lives on the family farm homesteaded by her grandparents. With a background in accounting and office technology, she’s volunteered with boards for over 25 years. Sandra enjoys genealogy, spreadsheets, and knitting. She’s excited to serve as Treasurer for MAC.

Social Media Coordinator/Secretary
Anna Bolen
Anna, a Recreation & Community Development graduate, became MAC’s secretary in 2022 and Social Media Coordinator in 2023. She manages MAC’s social media, keeps the community informed, and volunteers at local events. She also assists with meetings and digital organization.

Director
Maggie Tosh
A Licensed Practical Nurse for 30 years, she has worked across Saskatchewan in emergency, long-term, and acute care. She co-owns Prairie Lily RV Park with her husband and is a proud parent and grandparent. A MAC board member for four years, she mentors youth and enjoys painting, quilting, and other art forms.

Youth Mentee
Syndel Thomas Kozar
Syndel is a self-taught artist and cultural advocate skilled in drawing, painting, beading, sewing, and leatherwork. A support worker at the Marguerite Riel Centre, she facilitates art workshops. A MAC member since 2023, she volunteers for events and projects. She’s also a student, mother, and mental health advocate.
